Congrats! You Failed! : Part 7 - Get your facts straight

GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT

“You’ve got to know your numbers. How big is the market? How fast is it growing?… How many competitors are there? When are you going to break even? If you don’t know your numbers, you deserve to burn in hell. And I’ll put you there myself.” Kevin O’Leary, businessman and investor on Shark Tank

Most people are exceptionally good with words - a tongue dripping with honey and a gift to recognize and tell you exactly what you need to hear. People lie, but accurate facts, actions, and numbers will never lie to you; they are the closest you will ever get to reality, making wise decisions and seeing proof of someone's competence.

It is shocking how often major decisions are based on assumptions and hope -especially when it's so easy to get the facts. Decision-making is choosing the best course of action after careful consideration. Court Judges never pronounce a verdict without sufficient evidence, nor do they make a verdict solely based on the performance and eloquence of lawyers.

All decisions, strategies, and plans must rely heavily on accurate information; without this, you are gambling. Minimize your failures by being armed with information before jumping into battle.

In the next section, we will see how to set realistic goals - an effective way to reduce the rate of failure
